BUFFALO, New York (January, 2010) - Woodforest Charitable Foundation presents a $350 donation to the Food Bank of Western New York.  The grant will provide funding for its Kids Café program sites.

Established in 1978, the Food Bank of Western New York’s mission is to acquire and re-distribute food to affiliated charitable providers such as soup kitchens, pantries and shelters.  Each month, the Food Bank distributes nearly one million pounds of food to 96,000 residents in need.  The Food Bank currently serves four western New York counties through a network of 360 member agencies.

The Food Bank of Western New York fights childhood hunger by supporting the Kids Café program.  Kids Café programs provide free meals and snacks to low-income children through a variety of community locations. In addition to providing meals to kids, all Kids Café programs offer a safe place, where under the supervision of trustworthy staff, a child can get involved in educational, recreational and social activities. “We are sincerely thankful for Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s demonstration of concern for the needy in our community,” said Michael Billoni, Marketing and Public Relations Director for the Food Bank of Western New York.  “This donation helps us to distribute over 1,900 meals through our Kids Café program sites.”
