Foodbank of Northeast Louisiana recently received a $215.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Founded in 1997, the Food Bank began with just two part-time staff and a volunteer director operating from a small warehouse. Today, it has grown into a robust regional hunger-relief leader, operating out of a 30,000 sq ft facility and distributing over 6.9 million meals annually, impacting more than 25,000 neighbors each month. Its mission is “to provide food, hope, and dignity to our neighbors who struggle with hunger, and lead the movement to alleviate hunger through education, collaboration, and advocacy.” The Food Bank’s vision is a caring community where no one in Northeast Louisiana goes hungry. Working through a network of over 60 partner agencies (including pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters), the Food Bank delivers nutritious groceries and meals to communities. It also operates direct-to-neighbor programs such as the BackPack for Kids, Senior Food Box, Kids’ Cabinet school pantries, Mobile Pantry distributions, SNAP enrollment assistance, and Disaster Relief support. Additionally, their Grocery Rescue program salvages surplus food from growers, retailers, and manufacturers and redirects it to families who need it most, all while reducing waste.
