Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1955 by Mim Hunt, who began by distributing food, clothing, and bedding from her station wagon.  God’s Pantry Food Bank officially opened its first pantry in 1959 and has grown into a leading regional hunger-relief organization. Guided by the mission “reducing hunger by working together to feed Kentucky communities,” God’s Pantry works across 50 counties, empowering over 500 partner pantries and meal programs to deliver nutritious food with dignity and equity. Operating under core values like advocate, support, collaborate, act, the Food Bank mobilizes food rescue, mobile markets, school and pantry-based child nutrition programs, SNAP and Medicaid outreach, and senior nutrition initiatives, making more than 42 million meals annually possible while pushing for long-term solutions to hunger.
