Helping Harvest recently received a $2,530.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank was founded in 1983 by a group of local religious leaders in response to growing food insecurity in Berks and Schuylkill Counties, Pennsylvania. Its mission is succinct and powerful: to feed the hungry, delivered through strong partnerships, direct service, and community education. Annually, Helping Harvest collects, purchases, stores, and distributes over 9 million pounds of nutritious food to more than 350 partner programs, including food pantries, mobile markets, soup kitchens, and senior centers. Its service offerings include Mobile Market distributions, Senior Food Box deliveries, school-based snacks for children, SNAP outreach support, and fresh/frozen meal packages, the result of coordinated efforts involving volunteers, donors, and community organizations. Through these integrated programs, Helping Harvest not only addresses immediate hunger but also promotes long-term well‑being, healthy food access, and public awareness in its region.
