Lowcountry Food Bank recently received a $2,925.00 donation from The Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Lowcountry Food Bank was founded in 1983 by Trident United Way and the Coastal Community Foundation to address hunger as a critical community health issue in Charleston and surrounding coastal counties. Its mission is to unite the community in pursuit of equitable, dignified, and consistent access to food, with a shared commitment to nutrition, education, and equity for all residents in South Carolina’s Lowcountry region. Serving 10 coastal counties, LCFB partners with over 240 agencies, including food pantries, school centers, mobile markets, and veterans’ programs, to distribute nutritious food and deliver community-centered programs like school meal support, senior nutrition, SNAP outreach, and produce distribution initiatives like Fresh For All. Through a combination of warehouse operations in Charleston, Early Branch, and Myrtle Beach, and community outreach, Lowcountry Food Bank now provides more than 25 million meals annually, aiming to break the cycle of food insecurity across its service region.
