Woodforest Charitable Foundation

Founded in 1987 by a group of community volunteers, the Pearland Neighborhood Center (PNC) was established to address the lack of health and human service agencies in the Pearland area. A survey by the United Way of Brazoria County highlighted the need for a multi-service “one-stop” resource, and with support from a United Way venture grant, PNC began providing comprehensive services to residents in need. Guided by its mission to provide a foundation of effective services and responsive programs to facilitate the development of individuals and families, PNC offers a wide range of support, including emergency assistance for rent and utilities, a food and baby pantry, school supplies, disaster relief, continuing education programs such as GED preparation and computer literacy classes, and holiday initiatives like Santa’s Helpers and Toys for Tots Through these programs, PNC empowers individuals and families to achieve stability, self-sufficiency, and a stronger foundation for the future.
