Peoria Area Food Bank receives $3,440 donation from Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Peoria, IL – On a continual basis Woodforest National Bank employees perform a multitude of fundraising events benefitting the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.  Both Woodforest National Bank and Woodforest Charitable Foundation are committed to making a positive impact in the communities in which Woodforest serves. This partnership benefits the community and organizations such as Peoria Area Food Bank, which recently received a $3,440 donation from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Peoria Area Food Bank was established in 1984 to supplement the dietary and nutritional needs to low-income families living in the eight surrounding counties that they serve.
They provide over 109 active food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers, senior housing, youth detention centers and low-income day-care centers with large quantities of food from name brand manufacturers. Within the last year, over 2 million pounds of food has been distributed to the counties through various feeding programs such as, mobile pantry and backpack programs.
