Pennsylvania - The Children’s Institute, located in Pennsylvania, recently received a $5,000 contribution from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation.

Each year, The Children’s Institute provides more than $4 million in free health care and services to children. Woodforest Charitable Foundation’s donation to The Children’s Institute will help this worthy organization to continue to provide these essential services, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

The Children's Institute is a non-profit, fully accredited, comprehensive rehabilitation center for children and young adults. Founded in 1902 as the Home for Crippled Children and formerly the pediatric and specialty programs of The Rehabilitation Institute, The Children's Institute is licensed as a rehabilitation hospital, as a day school and as a permanency planning agency for children with special needs. The mission of The Children's Institute is to be dedicated to promoting the well-being of children, young people and their families and provide services that meet their special needs. “This financial support will provide children and young adults with every opportunity to achieve their own personal miracles,” said Helene Conway-Long, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Each gift has the power to enhance, improve and change lives, both for those who give and those who receive.”

“We are delighted to present this contribution to The Children’s Institute. This organization has been promoting the well-being of special needs children, young people and their families for over one hundred years,” said Kim Marling, Vice President of Woodforest Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to assist in their efforts of providing services that meet the needs of very special people.”
